Spaghetti 'Olio' with Chicken Ham and Lemon

Tuesday, April 15, 2014 | Labels: |

This may probably sound sacrilegious to pasta but I added some drops of light soy sauce to my spaghetti today in the name of experimenting.  I had very few ingredients on hand and so I came up with this 'olio' style spaghetti cooked simply in olive oil, drops of soy sauce, garlic, green onions and some chicken ham.  Of course, I added some generous squirts of lemon juice as well.  The lemon makes the whole dish more refreshing and felt less sinful (lots of carbs!).

This post is part of my Yuen Chun Recipes.

Ingredients:

4 cloves garlic, sliced
2 stalks green onions, sliced
4 slices chicken ham (or bacon if you like)
Juice from half a lemon
1/4 packet spaghetti (cook according to package instructions)
Few drops of light soy sauce

Method:

Firstly, heat up some olive oil in your pan. Add garlic, green onions and saute until fragrant.  Add few drops of soy sauce and 1/2 teaspoon salt.  Add in the chicken ham slices.  Add cooked pasta and stir around to coat well.  Add lemon juice.  Serve hot.
