Brussel Sprouts in Abalone Sauce Recipe

Wednesday, December 31, 2014 | Labels: , , , |

I love brussel sprouts but funnily enough have never used them in a simple stir-fry until now.  This was my mom's idea to be exact.  Brussel sprouts are simply blanched and then stir-fried quickly with garlic, some soy and abalone sauce.  Most vegetables lend themselves pretty well to stir-fries so there are just simply too many varieties.  I hope you will like this simple and nutritious dish!

This post is part of my Yuen Chun Recipes, an ongoing project on this blog.

Ingredients:

1 cup of brussel sprouts, blanched for about 1-2 minutes
1-2 tablespoons of abalone sauce (I used Yuen Chun's)
3 cloves garlic, roughly chopped
Dash of light soy sauce

Method:

Heat up your wok until almost smoking.  Add 3 tablespoons oil and swirl to coat.  Turn heat to low, add garlic and fry until aromatic.  Add the dash of light soy sauce.  Carefully add in the brussel sprouts.  Add abalone sauce.  Add more soy if needed.  Briskly fry for about 3-4 minutes.  Serve hot with rice.
