Lemon Garden Buffet Lunch/ Hi-tea at Shangri-La, Kuala Lumpur

Saturday, August 11, 2012 | Labels: |

Buffets are dangerous affairs - yes, I tend to overstuff myself, but since we rarely go for buffets, guess it's alright to indulge once in a while?  Lemon Garden is the coffee house at Kuala Lumpur's Shangri-la and it offers an extremely wide and sumptous spread where you get to pick to your heart's delight.  Overall, I think the buffet is extremely worth the time, price and your appetite although there are a few items on the menu that could do with some improvement.  If you are a seafood lover, you will probably like the buffet, from fresh raw oysters to large juicy prawns - you can have as many as your stomach allows.

The oyster bar, one of the most popular fixtures at the buffet

The cheese and bread counter where Camembert cheese and blue cheese are two of my favourites

Cold pasta salads, cold cuts and other mixed salads.

The Western portion of the buffet, the grilled corn and vegetables were good but the chicken was a little dry

Some standard dim sum fare, pretty decent - note that the dim sum at the buffet is not made by the Chinese chefs at Shangri-la but from an external supplier.

The noodle corner, I didn't get to try this as I was just too stuffed but the selection looked decent and one would be spoilt for choice

Finishing off with some dessert, the little cakes and tarts were quite decent

All in all, this is a buffet worth going to but definitely don't expect perfection for every single item on the menu!  This buffet is priced at RM85++ per person on Saturday afternoons from 12-4pm with complimentary coffee and tea.  Caveat - the coffee is not high quality and really bitter, a safer bet would be the tea.
